Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East involving Iran, global shipping routes are currently experiencing significant disruption. The situation around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime trade corridors, has led to a sharp reduction in vessel traffic and increased security risks for carriers.
As a result, a number of shipping lines from the Far East to Europe have been either been suspended, diverted around alternative routes or have delayed departures. These changes are creating longer transit times, increased freight costs, and reduced schedule reliability across global supply chains.
For shipments originating in the Far East, this may result in extended lead times and potential delays to deliveries. In addition, rising energy prices and emergency surcharges introduced by carriers are contributing to increased transportation costs across the industry.
Rerum Consultancy is closely monitoring the situation with our logistics partners and suppliers. While we continue to maintain supply where possible, customers should anticipate some delays or adjustments to expected shipping schedules in the short term.
We will provide further updates as the situation evolves and remain committed to maintaining transparent communication with our customers and partners.

Rerum Ingredients were proud to be part of FI Europe in November, which proved once again to be a brilliant event. If we didn’t cross paths this year, we hope to see you in 2026.
We’ve just returned from Vitafoods Europe 2025, held from May 20–22 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. This marked the first time the event took place in Barcelona after 26 successful years in Geneva.
Rerum Ingredients Ltd was present throughout the show, engaging in a packed schedule of meetings and collaborations. Our team was also available at the Divis Nutraceuticals stand, where we connected with industry peers and explored new opportunities.
